About 30 years ago, Vanessa's parents starting building a 1/12 scale dolls house replica of their house using the blue prints from the family home.  Sadly her father died and in an effort to keep her mother occupied Vanessa started to accompany her to the Miniature Fairs.  Walking around a fair, it was impossible not to be entranced by what she saw.  She purchased her first 1/12 Georgian house at Miniatura but upon delivery, was overwhelmed by it's size, so she then bought a 1/24 scale 1930's style dolls house to 'warm up'.  Years later she met Alan.  With a background in design and engineering and the enthusiasm for new challenges, the perfect team was matched.  Bringing together decades of experience, Vanalan Miniatures was born.
